Fun tidbit; Hotel Covington was one of the first wedding venues I ever photographed at! For that reason, it will always hold a special place in my heart. Hotel Covington is located in, you guessed it, Covington KY. As many of you know (though if there are some new faces, hiii!) I moved from Cincinnati to Austin Texas in 2022. Austin Texas is home to so many beautiful, unique wedding locations. I wish that I could take Hotel Covington with me wherever I go, because there are a hundred reasons why it is the best place to get married. On top of that, there are another thousand reasons why Sara and David’s wedding day here was absolutely perfection. I plan on using these photos as my thousand+ words below 😉

I remember sitting at a bar with Sara and David a few weeks before their wedding and having a moment where I just realized I was sitting next to two of the best people to probably walk this earth. They both have dedicated their lives to helping others in their own respective ways. I always felt like they genuinely cared about everything anyone had to say, and even more than that they cared so deeply for each other. During the reception, I could hear all of their friends said the same thing.

It’s not uncommon for me to want to be bffs with my client- I mean how do you spend such an emotional day with someone and *not* want to love them forever. However, I think these two are the kind of people that *anyone* would want (and be lucky) to have in their life. In addition to being the most kind-hearted people, they’re also the life of the party. I don’t think I have ever seen a dance floor that lively in my entire career- photographic proof below.

In each of my blog posts I like to share a bit about what package they selected. My goal is to help couples understand what different coverage/days look like! These two booked my all-day package; I was with them for about 11 hours. I know what you’re thinking; an 11 hour photoshoot sounds exhausting. That’s because it is- I don’t expect you guys to be smiling at my camera for 11 hour straight. In fact I’d prefer you not to!

I am a documentary wedding photographer. This means I was there to capture their day as it naturally unfolds. I document couples fully present in the moment- not staging photos left and right. Don’t get me wrong, I will absolutely be taking photographs of you and your boo all dressed up. I’ll also be grabbing beautiful photos of your family/friends happy with you. However you’ll also get those teary-eyed hugs and the contagious laughter documented too.
